  1. WENATCHEE — Twigs are twigs — or so we thought. For about 40 burgeoning plant sleuths, identifying say a trumpet honeysuckle or a serviceberry twig was a difficult thing without a flower or leaf. Identification became much easier after Thursday night's Twigs for Fun event at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center.
  2. Madeleine Myrmoe, 5, Wenatchee, tries to lift a PVC pipe device used to corral loose pucks used in the Chuck-A-Puck contest at the Wenatchee Wild game Monday night. Her painful reaction didn't last long as she and other children gathered the foam pucks. Madeleine had just been given a game puck from one of the officials between periods. The Wild won Monday's game, advancing to a second-round series against the Cowichan Capitals that begins Friday night at the Town Toyota Center.
  3. Chelan County firefighter Josh Jourdan, front, and Wenatchee Police officer Jared Shepard reach for the ball in a donkey basketball game Monday night at Wenatchee High School.
  4. A crew from J & K Earthworks of Rock Island removes trees at Central Washington Hospital Tuesday to get the site ready a three-story parking garage. The garage will have about 500 parking spaces and should be completed late this fall.
  5. The Cashmere girls basketball team loses to La Salle Friday in Yakima in the semi finals of the state tournament.
