WENATCHEE — Twigs are twigs — or so we thought. For about 40 burgeoning plant sleuths, identifying say a trumpet honeysuckle or a serviceberry twig was a difficult thing without a flower or leaf. Identification became much easier after Thursday night's Twigs for Fun event at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center.

A crew from J & K Earthworks of Rock Island removes trees at Central Washington Hospital Tuesday to get the site ready a three-story parking garage. The garage will have about 500 parking spaces and should be completed late this fall.
