WENATCHEE — The Man Shop, a company specializing in haircuts and straight-razor shaves but also featuring pool tables, basketball hoops, arcade games, big-screen TVs and free popcorn, was set to open in Wenatchee in late August or early September.
ROCK ISLAND — A new industrial district could soon encompass the vacant hulk of a former silicon plant here if the Port of Douglas County moves forward with plans for the riverfront site just south of the city.

WENATCHEE — January 5 will be the last day of work for all but a handful of the 428 employees at Alcoa’s Wenatchee Works smelter, a top union official said Nov. 24. Elected officials in New York, meanwhile, announced they had reached an agreement with Alcoa to keep open for three more years one of the smelters slated for closure.
