Chelan Fire and Rescue received second place in the Washington State Fire Commissioners Association “Management Excellence Award Program” for Category B Class fire departments at a conference in Spokane last month. The award program provides a means of sharing information, ideas and a variety of activities throughout the state and to give recognition to those in the fire service that have demonstrated progressive achievement.
The Wenatchee Kennel Club received the American Kennel Club Public Education Award, presented by AKC Director of Education Leslie Fetzer. The award was given Oct. 20 during the annual Wenatchee Kennel Club dog show in Cashmere.

The Wenatchee Racquet & Athletic Club has announced the addition of staff and instructors to its fitness team: Ellie Miller has been named assistant club manager; licensed massage therapist and certified running coach Anja Petterson has joined the massage therapy team; Alanna Petterson and Marion Lodato have both joined as yoga instructors; Adria Smart will teach water workouts; and Izzy Griffith will lead preschool play.
CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) has announced the addition of Maria L. Rosa and Paden Osterlund as new associates. Rosa graduated from Central Washington University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration while also completing her internship with CLA. She previously worked in the company’s Moses Lake office. Osterlund previously worked at Weinstein Beverages in Wenatchee while pursuing his undergraduate degree in accounting. He held a graduate fellowship position at Eastern Washington University while completing his master’s degree in business administration.
Justin Erickson is Chelan County PUD’s new district services managing director. The Tacoma-area native is a Central Washington University alumnus for both his undergraduate degree and his master’s degree in resource management.

Lisa Monahan has been hired as a STEM coordinator. She taught a variety of courses in the Methow Valley over the past 12 years, including secondary science, math, engineering and health, and coordinated internships.
Melissa Trammell is the newest behavior specialist. She graduated earlier this year with a graduate certificate in PBS with a focus in applied behavior analysis.
Heidi Krumland has joined the staff as a school psychologist intern. Previously, she was an elementary school teacher and has taught in Alaska, Belgium and several districts in Washington.
Heather Kelly has also been hired as a school psychologist intern. Prior to graduate school, she worked for the Wenatchee Police Department, the state Department of Corrections and the state Division of Child Support.
Heather Stringer is the new electrical safety and energy education specialist. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University and brings almost a decade of experience teaching elementary school.
Erika Cleverly has joined the staff as a speech language pathologist. She worked for the Quincy School District for 10 years and the Achieve Center for three years.
