The importance of shopping local cannot be stressed enough.
Sure, it may seem easier and maybe less expensive to buy things online, but local business owners depend on you getting out and giving them a chance.
Besides, during the holiday season it’s also fun mingling with our neighbors looking for just the right gift for some special person. That Christmas feel in the air, and we hope, a special cheer among the shoppers can make for a great experience.
And while doing so you are helping to keep our cities enticing and attractive economic hubs.
In this edition of Business World we take things beyond just buying locally by featuring gift ideas not only sold down the street but also made there.
When we started we brainstormed some of the popular and unique items made in North Central Washington that might make for fine gifts. The list kept growing and growing, so what we present inside is a sampling but hardly all-inclusive list.
It was a fun exercise. Of course we had to include Aplets and Cotlets from Liberty Orchards. We couldn’t leave out the many, many great wines produced throughout our region. There also were purses, jewelry, baby moccasins, gun holsters and more that were unique and interesting enough to be listed.
Whatever you end up buying and wherever you end up buying it, have a Merry Christmas.
